As summer makes it scorching approach in Orlando, take the time to enjoy the some local events and festivals around the city. These events showcase Orlando and its diverse culture. Some of these events take place in the Disney area so take the time to enjoy some of these local events!
May Events
Florida Music Festival
This annual music festival brings nearly 25,000 people to Orlando. It last 4 days and includes over 200 band performances. Be prepared to dance and enjoy yourself at this lively event!
Orlando International Fringe Festival
This fringe festival showcases different artistic talent thorough the city at local venues. Enjoy over 500 performers from several different theater companies at this multi-day event.
Star Wars Weekends
Stop by and watch your favorite Star Wars characters in this Disney celebration. You will have the opportunity to get autographs, pictures, and attend question and answer sessions. Don’t forget to attend the Jedi Training Academy before the day is done!
June Events
Gay Days
Gay Days typically bring thousands of gay and lesbian families to the Orlando area to enjoy a festive vacation experience. Known to wear red shirts to show unity during event, these families enjoy the theme parks and local attractions in Orlando.
Summer Concert Series
This concert series bring several famous musical artists to the Disney area. Since this concert is outdoors, wear plenty of sunscreen and stay hydrated as you enjoy the music!
